Passenger traffic at Hong Kong Airport in January increased by about 28 times year-on-year

Civil Aviation Resource Network News on February 20, 2023: According to Xinhua News, the Hong Kong Airport Authority (AA) announced on the 19th that the passenger traffic of Hong Kong International Airport in January was about 2.1 million, a year-on-year increase of about 28 times. The highest day exceeded 80,000 people.

It is reported that in January, the number of aircraft movements at Hong Kong International Airport increased by 34.9% year-on-year to 16,215, and the cargo volume decreased by 26.4% year-on-year to 288,000 tons. Customized Dual B low intensity light,Customized Low intensity dual B light, runway middleline light manufacturers,Customized Taxiway Intersection Light,Customized low intensity light type A.

According to the AA, with the relaxation of travel restrictions, the number of passengers of all categories has increased significantly year-on-year, among which the growth of Hong Kong residents is particularly significant, and the number of passengers traveling to and from Southeast Asia and Japan has increased most significantly. Passenger demand was strong in the second half of January due to the Lunar New Year holiday. The orderly resumption of outbound travel in the Mainland has also led to the recovery of the number of tourists from Hong Kong and the Mainland.

According to the AA, the decline in cargo volume was mainly due to the uncertain global economic outlook. During the month, cargo volume to and from Southeast Asia, North America and Europe experienced the most significant declines. In addition, the temporary closure of factories in the Mainland during the Lunar New Year holiday also had a certain impact on cargo volume.

According to data from the Airport Authority, in the past 12 months, passenger traffic at Hong Kong International Airport has increased by 466% year-on-year to 7.6 million, aircraft movements have fallen by 1.7% to 142,920, and cargo volume has dropped by 18.2% to 4.1 million tons.
